The provide an even timbre across the breadth of the instrument range. On my “ballet and blues viola” I currently use Helicore for all strings: A al/steel, D al/steel, G sil/steel, C tung silv/steel. All medium gauge loop end. They respond quickly and are quick tuning with fine tuners. Ideal for the pit where it’s so noisy.
